Register for up to 8 fun-filled weeks!
Monday - Thursday we are in the church building from 9 am to 3 pm.
Games and Activities
Of course we play the typical camp games like dodgeball, line tag and capture the flag, but our favourites are the Kids Zone classics like: 'Where's my chicken?', 'the Card Game' and our version of Cops and Robbers. Typically we also create or customize a few games to the year's theme. Once a week we try to get outside on the field for some water related games, but that depends on the weather.
We love playing games, but we also love learning practical skills! Baking has been a highlight of camp for many, many years. We are very fortunate to have access to a full kitchen, complete with an industrial dishwasher (yay!) so each week we make dessert (usually cookies or brownies) from scratch with the kids.
Bible Lessons
Kids Zone is a faith-based summer day camp. We have short Bible lessons a couple times a week where we read or act out a story from a Bible story book. Recently we have been making our way through the story of the Bible over the course of the summer, starting in Genesis and ending with the life of Jesus and the beginning of the church. Thursdays are our 'Gospel Thursdays' where we read a story from the life of Jesus and look at the themes we've been talking about through a Gospel lens. When possible we do a craft from one of the stories we read throughout the week.
Fridays we meet a little earlier to carpool or transit to one of four exciting locations for a field trip.
This year, our out-trips include
- 3 visits to Big Splash Waterpark
- 2 visits to Science World
- 2 visits to Centennial Beach
- 1 visit to Bear Creek Park
We send out specific details for Fridays on a week by week basis, depending on the out-trip and the people registered.
