Sunday Mornings

We don't go to church...

That might sound odd, but the Bible doesn't use the word church about a building, place or event. In the Bible, the word church always refers to people - the family of God, saved by God, for God's purposes. We have a saying in our family, "We don't go to church. We are the church." It reminds us the gospel of Jesus gives us a new identity that we can't earn and don't need to strive for.

Sunday gatherings are a chance to gather together as the whole church to celebrate the gospel of Jesus. We sing, encourage one another, pray, share stories, laugh, sometimes cry, learn from Scripture, take communion, and leave exhorted to be who we are as God's people - disciples of Jesus, a family of servants on his mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sundays at Sunshine Ridge are pretty relaxed. People start to arrive around 10 for coffee and goodies. At 10:30 we head into the auditorium for our worship time. We sing some songs together, take Communion and have a time of sharing where our people can come and tell stories of the ways God has been great, good, gracious and glorious in our lives over the week (this is one of our favourite times!). We also listen to a message from the Bible that one of the pastors has prepared.
